Did you ever have a job where you wondered "how the hell am I in charge of this? Wtf?!".

Going through old photos I was reminded of the time in 2007 I went to #Italy as a guide & bike mechanic for Dutch cycling holiday operator CycleTours.

Little thread. Maybe someone besides me gets joy out of it :-)

For context. Cycletours offered package group holidays where you'd cycle from campsite to campsite while a cook & mechanic provide a basecamp, food, support etc.

The Marriage Powder:

Once, a beggar from St. Leonhard went up into the Vinschgau valley in order to panhandle. As he wandered around and gathered Kreuzer coins, he came across a beautiful girl cooking noodles whom he took quite a liking to. Then he asked for a bowl of noodles, and she agreed to this. Once the noodles had been cooked, he received a portion. He sat down at the table, and invited the beautiful maiden to eat with him. After long reluctance, she finally tasted the meal as well. After that moment, she was in love beyond reason with him, and when he went away, she experienced such a great desire for him that she journeyed after him - for he had sprinkled “marriage powder” between the noodles. She traveled to Passeir, where she finally found her darling and married him. The hut where they lived is still standing, and is called the “Schneckenhäuschen” (“Little Snail Hut”).
