#ttrpg I had a playtester that refused to really engage with anything. They said "a reasonable person would run away and leave town". They're not wrong, but how do you deal with this as a GM?

Glimmermark session 40: the players decided to investigate the Stygian Caves more, finally entering the temple of the undead. Despite those being rather more powerful than usual they still managed to make short work of the ones they encountered, although a group of revenant guards managed to sneak up on the clerics in the back.
After dealing with them and stealing some jewels they encountered a group of bandits who improbable chose fight instead of flight and got trounced #osr#ttrpg#dnd
3d6 DTL Ep 17 of #Mothership Gradient Descent! The crew needs to get back to the Bell, and that means a one-way trip back up to board the Acheron. The fallout of the explosion has put them and other Divers in grave danger, as Monarch has increased security sweeps. #OSR#TTRPG

Monopoly really is a precursor to Vampire the Masquerade, isn't it? You play bloodsucking leeches that gobble up all the wealth, have vicious rivalries, and in the end there's drama.

* ran/played 19 games of Shadowrun 3rd edition. I didn’t actually keep track who was GMing and who was playing. We are alternating.
* posted 25 roleplaying-related blog posts (now 26)
* published 1 fanzine article in the Grenzland zine
All in all 65 games. 1.25 games per week.
That’s a fair amount.
(Very technically the Lodz Comic festival also might count as a ttrpg convention, but there were like two tables and a miniature painting workshop and thanks to my kid I didn’t get to enjoy anything of it.)
So, how about you? How was your year in this hobby?
