A mostly UP Covid recovery day yesterday, which showed in my productivity. 5,059 words added to Expired Reflection.

Like with all my narrative outlines, once I pass the Midpoint there’s a lot more guesswork involved in the plan & a lot more discovery in the draft.

Yet, some points, anchor points, will remain, making the narrative still a worthwhile guide, & often invaluable.

Be everwell.

The Flame, or rather Jennifer as she was not in costume, considered her bedroom. It was getting crowded again. She was either going to have to at least get a new bed, if not actually get a whole new bedroom built.

Why Professor Russim insisted on making his artificial assassins fully self aware and anatomically correct, she had no idea. She was not going to complain though. First it allowed the assassins to break free of his commands, and secondly, well, that was why she needed a bigger bed.

Jennifer crawled into the pile of bodies and drifted off to sleep.

Three hours later, about an hour before sunrise, the bed shook violently. Jennifer and the other occupants awoke. A quick check confirmed that it had not been anyone having a good time, and Wisteria, one of the first, got up to look outside.

Scott reviews "Valley of Secrets" by H. L Moore, Death's Embrace book 4:

"You know that feeling when you’re down to the last twenty pages of the last book of a series you really loved, and you don’t want it to end, so you start reading slower and slower to drag out the inevitable? That. Hard... this is the best fantasy series I’ve read in a long time."

12/14 Are your characters incapacitated by injuries, or do they brush them off as flesh wounds?

It depends.

I made my Wolves heal fast, and mostly, they can brush off injuries but not always.

My Winds & Pillars don't get hurt often, and there are healers, but sometimes, they need time to recover.

Crash certainly doesn't brush off injuries. Krighen needs time to recover.

I do try to make my stories realistic for the world they are set in.
