Posiblemente La Muerte fuese el personaje del Mundodisco que más juego daba a Pratchett a la hora de ponerse filosófico y empezar a llevar la saga más allá de la pura parodia. En esta entrega La Muerte deja de hacer su trabajo y eso, en lugar de ser una buena noticia, trastoca la vida tal y como la conocemos.
