sifuCJC reviewed The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones
Wow. Potent.
5 stars
The two main voices are of a wordy yet engaging preacher and an earnest Blackfoot who sprinkles his language with the English. It's takes a bit of energy to follow. But the story they relate is so viscerally raw, that it strips away any pretense.
There is very explicit gore, and since this takes place from the American Indian perspective, the gore isn't even the most emotionally violent parts. It never felt like a horror novel to me, even though there are elements of the genre, but it was a potent as one.
