Ron and Dan Lafferty killed Brenda Lafferty and her 18-month-old daughter, Erica, while acting on a divine revelation. Krakauer's even, breezy, investigative style plumbs the the depths of the grotesque Lafferty murder and other horrors done under the banner of heaven.
