Pretty good for a first novel, though not as polished, understandably, as later books. Finished it, but somewhat irritated by the “Elvish” trope Shee (v.s. Sídhe). Best thing about the book is the Intro where Wrede includes a chunk of the novel as originally published, and how and why she revised it for this edition.
