In the backdrop of Mexico's Dirty War of the 1970s, SMG weaves the thread of different characters, from naive, comic-book romance-obsessed legal secretary, tangled up with radical students, and right-wing militiamen... and a cat.
The book moves at a fast pace, as they all get drawn to the search for presumably damaging photos that would expose some PRI corruption. Highly entertaining within the noir genre.
The author also provided a playlist of every piece of music mentioned in the book.
Don't expect a sequel or even commonalities with Mexican Gothic, beyond Mexico. It's not that at all, different genre entirely.
