Ink Black Heart Review

5 stars

This was a good book, except for two things: 1. Maybe I'm just used to writers like Michael Connelly whose books are a third as long as this one was, but I don't think it needed to be over 1000 pages. I was quite tempted a few times to skip to the end although I didn't. 2. Rowling/Galbraith needs to make up her mind about whether Robin and Strike should be together, because it's gone on far too long.

The portrayal of online bullying and hate speech was painfully accurate. I'm assuming Rowling drew inspriation from being at the centre of several online controversies.

It is super rare for me to finish a book this long in under three weeks, but I found the plot of this mystery extremely addictive. The characters were intriguing and there were plenty of developments and surprising plots twists. The Ink Black Heart was especially intricate.

As usual, I found all the details about the the agency's cases fascinating, and the relationship between partners Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott continues to entertain.

Bravo! I'm looking forward to the next installment!
