It quickly became obvious that this book has been an influential text for politically conservative Christians in the U.S. for several decades. Schaeffer makes the same arguments and targets all the familiar villains (humanists, evolution, government, media, universities, hippies, inner cities, bisexuals, the USSR, etc.) If all philosophy is footnotes to Plato, then maybe most Republican memes are reiterations of Schaeffer.
Worth reading just to learn the ideas that have been motivating folks in the Religious Right since the 1970s.
