Young Nicola Ferris, on vacation from her secretarial job at the British embassey in Athens, was enjoying the wild and beautiful scenery of southern Crete, when she found Mark Langley, a mysteriously wounded compatriot, hiding in the mountains. Her impulsive decision to befriend him, beginning as a romantic adventure, precipitated Nicola into a sinister and terrifying murder plot.
