Wambach comes across as someone you'd want to hang out with. The story is entertaining, humble, and insightful. The stories of so many elite athletes reveal that the lives underneath the goals/baskets/touchdowns/knockouts are a mess, causing you to wonder how the athletes perform so well and for so long. Her story falls into that same narrative -- but she tells it both with candor and in an upbeat way.
