Laage reviewed Koko by Peter Straub
Review of 'Koko' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
Part one of Straub's Blue Rose trilogy.
On the surface Koko is a serial killer thriller, but at heart it deals with the effects of mental trauma on people both as groups and as individuals.
If you have read Ghost Story or Straub's collaborations with King (The Talisman and Black House) you may be expecting supernatural elements but Koko contains no such thing, but some scenes still have a feeling of uncanny unreality to them (not a bad thing!).
