Golgotha est donc le final de ce que j’appellerais plutôt un geek-roman. on y retrouve en effet tous les petits délires du geek de base : utiliser un espace 2D et des matrices pour optimiser la répartition d’un héritage, faire du ssh à travers la terre entière pour finallement donner son propre login, l’importance de la branlette en tant qu’hygiène sexuelle, et tant d’autres détails croustillants qui, mêlés à une trame fascinante à la base, en font vraiment le prototype du bouquin réussi pour moi.
Mais peut-être cela est-il dû au fait que je sois dans le coeur de cible : individu de style mâle vaguement technoïde, et tutti quanti. Cela n’ôte évidement rien à ce bouquin, habillement construit entre une bonne dizaine de personnages au début, pour finir par se centrer à la toute fin sur l’unique Randy Waterhouse, développeur à la sauce Linux (qui s’appelle Finux dans le …

Bref, sans vouloir en dire plus (parce qu’après tout ce troisème tome est en fait la conclusion de ce bouquin découpé en France), je ne saurais que vous conseiller de le lire, et ce pour plusieurs raisons : d’abord, [a:Stephenson|545|Neal Stephenson|http://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1430920344p2/545.jpg] écrit remarquablement bien (enfin, le couple auteur-traducteur donne un résultat plus que probant), ensuite, l’histoire, découpée entre la deuxième guerre mondiale et un présent plus contemporain, est tout ce qu’il y a de plus tortueuse, et enfin, il n’y a pas vraiment de temps mort dans ce récit très bien fichu.
