Another entertaining historical detective story, if you want to call it that. Set during Henry II's reign, it brings to life the uprising of his wife Queen Eleanor and his son Young Henry against his reign, here powered by a political plot that cost his mistress Rosamund's life, as she is found poisoned at the start of the book.
The plot felt a bit more confined as it's mostly set in a snowed in abbey, with Queen Eleanor's side of the rebellion camped there. All in all, I still enjoyed Adelia greatly, however it's starting to grate on my nerves that the Rowley love story is still a thing. He's a bishop now, and that doesn't make the relationship any more interesting to me. Adelia is a strong enough character that I really did not need a romance bit for her.
