There are many things swirling around my head after reading this book. One is the big picture thought experiment of what it might look like to upload brains into a computer system to achieve a form of immortality. It is not what I imagined. The lack of contact or even true awareness of "meatspace" was wild. The fact that beings essentially recreated a plane of existence that simulates so many features of earth was wilder.
The next is the religious metanarratives that recall, invert, and reinvent aspects of Jewish and Greek systems. Mind boggling to say the least.
It's a tome, and takes energy to read. But I highly recommend it. I expect I'll have more to say as I reflect on this book and its ideas over time.
