When an extraterrestrial arrives on Earth, his first impressions of humans are less than positive. Taking the form of Professor Andrew Martin at Cambridge University, the visitor is eager to complete his task and hurry back to his own utopian planet. Disgusted by the way humans look, what they eat, their capacity for murder and war, he is equally baffled by the concepts of love and family. But as time goes on, he starts to reconsider.

This is my second read by this author. Again it feels like another allegory and I'm not disappointed by that. I usually don't like to be tricked. But who doesn't want to hear that our human existence is better than that of the "perfect" alien race with no death or grief? I wasn't sure what I was reading at first. An alien possessing a human for the purpose of halting scientific/human progression? Ummmm weird. But what a beautiful story this turned out to be. Thank you Matt!
